Our Vision

Navus Brass was created with the goal of using music, specifically brass music, to strengthen the community in which we live.  Music can bring people together, lighten burdens, create joy, educate, enlighten and comfort.  Music can do things nothing else can, touching people in a way words simply can’t do.  Simply put, music is the language of the soul.  It is a language we all need.  It is real, authentic and most of all, healing.  And that is the essence of Navus Brass’ goals, to help those struggling, suffering and living in pain to heal, bringing even a brief moment of joy to their lives.  We wish to interact with our audiences in a more intimate setting, relinquishing the barriers of performer and listener.

The following are a couple ways Navus Brass accomplishes this purpose:

Educating the youth, bringing live music to them in a friendly, relaxed environment where they can experience chamber music first hand.  It also enables them to ask questions they may have and introduces them in many cases to live classical music.  We wish to help youth be more involved in classical music.  When they are, they will learn invaluable lessons that will help them throughout their lives, regardless of what profession they choose.

Helping our senior community by bringing live music to them through playing concerts at senior centers, hospitals and other community venues.

Playing church concerts as well as church services.

By doing these specific things, we hope to better those we are fortunate enough to serve by sharing our talents with them.  We do not seek personal praise as performers but instead strive to put our listeners first.  We want to be a positive force in our community for good and know that through brass music, that goal is possible.
