Yoichi Murakami

 

Mr. Murakami came to Europe to continue his studies of Horn after his graduation as “Best of Class” at the Tokyo College of Music. Growing up between Osaka and Kobe, Japan, he quickly became a highly sought-after Hornist in his youth. In Japan, he studied with such Professors as Kozo Moriyama, Suekatsu Nishida and Masato Yoshinaga.

He continued his studies in Hannover, Germany, studying with Prof. Markus Maskuniity at the Conservatory for Music and Dance, graduating in 2014. A continued desire to learn and grow in his musicianship took root in Cologne, Germany, where Mr. Murakami studied Natural Horn with Ulrich Hübner at the Conservatory.

Yoichi Murakami has played with such orchestras as the Bremen Philharmonic, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic and the Tokyo City Center Orchestra. He was a finalist at the Japan Music Competition in 2014 and in 2011 was invited to play at the prestigious Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestral Academy. He has appeared as a Soloist with Sinfonietta Köln and the Tokyo College of Music.

Presently he is frequently engaged with various modern orchestras, baroque orchestras and chamber music ensembles in the Cologne, Germany area.
